World Bee Day

  • EPIC Flemington Road Gungahlin, ACT, 2912 Australia (map)

Celebrate bees and other pollinators with us at your local Farmers Market!

As part of the worldwide celebration of bees and pollinators, ACT for Bees will be sharing the fascinating world of our local native bees — the tiny pollinators doing such important work in our gardens and ecosystems.

We’re also delighted that the Canberra Region Beekeepers will be there to talk all things honeybees, honey, and beekeeping.

Come along to learn, connect, and support our local growers, makers, and pollinators. Every visit to the market helps strengthen a healthier, more sustainable community.

Local radio station ABC 666 will also be broadcasting live from the market with bee-related stories and guests. Come and collect a few seed bombs, small hardy balls made of clay, compost and seeds used to revegetate bare areas and learn how to make them. They protect seeds from wildlife and harsh weather, germinating when rain breaks down the clay for your garden.

Enjoy watching the children play 'Being a bee and pollinating the apple trees' as well as other children's activities.
