Repair Café House Rules
This Repair Café is supported by SEE Change Incorporated.
In order to have an item repaired at this SEE Change Repair Cafe, you must read and agree to the following House Rules as a condition of participation:
Participation at your own risk
Repair Cafe volunteers, visitors and attendees participate at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither SEE Change nor its volunteers, officers or representatives accept any responsibility or legal liability for any loss, damage (including consequential or indirect loss), illness, personal injury or death arising out of or in connection with attendance at, or participation in, the Repair Cafe.
No guarantee
Neither the repairers nor SEE Change offer any guarantee for the work carried out, nor can they to the maximum extent permitted by law, be held liable for any loss or damage that may result from work, advice or instructions concerning the repairs.
Right to refuse, no charge, no supply of parts, one item at a time
The repairers and SEE Change can, at their sole discretion, decline to repair any item for any reason.
Work carried out in the Repair Cafe is free of charge by volunteer repairers on hand, however donations are most welcome.
If additional parts are required for an item to be fixed, for example zippers, motors, chains, batteries, the owner is to purchase these items and can return to a future Repair Cafe event to complete repairs.
During busy periods, a maximum of ONE broken item per person will be considered at a time. The visitor will join the back of the queue if there is a second item for repair.
No drop off
Items cannot be dropped off or left at the Repair Cafe to be repaired at a later date. SEE Change accepts no responsibility for items left at the venue and reserves the right to dispose of any items not collected by the end of the week.
Photography and filming
The Repair Cafe is a public event, and filming and photography may occur during the event. By attending, you consent to your image (and the image of any minors in your care) being captured, retained and used by SEE Change for marketing, publicity and promotional purposes, including on social media and our website, without compensation. Please contact a Repair Cafe host before or during the event if you wish to opt out of being filmed or photographed.
By entering the Repair café and signing the Repair Docket (or Repairs Sheet), you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these House Rules, accept the risks of participation, and agree to be bound by the disclaimers and limitations of liability set out above.
